Christmas Village of Hope
Yet another Christmas Time and with the start of the Christmas season, couple Clayton & Joji Tugonon in partnership with SM City Cebu has again opened their Christmas Village of Hope in the Northwing area of the said mall.
The village isn't just for display though, it has much more meaningful reason why they set it up. The Tugonon couple’s first meeting with the pediatric cancer patients from Cebu Cancer Institute, Kythe partner hospital in the Visayas, opened up something in their hearts and spurred change for future beneficiaries of a major fundraising project. Setting up the lights and sights of the Christmas Village of Hope year in and year out can be a daunting task, but for Clayton and Joji Tugonon, their mission is always to see the patients survive, grow up, and lead happy lives.
Annually, this has been set up and this year's highlight for the Christmas Village of Hope is the display of miniature churches of the world, in addition to the miniature houses, old churches, trains, among others.
You'll see names of personalities and companies displayed together with these miniature figures. The names are actually the donors who in return gets their own specific miniature which will serve as part of the village itself. Proceeds will help fund the chemotherapy and radiation of the children with cancer under Kythe Foundation, Inc.
Love the fact that there are more moving miniatures inside the village, it makes the village more lively and colorful too!
Note that this is the first part of the series. I will be posting more videos of the village.
